The hand crank is a customary instrument. It is a deep-drawn, hollow interior and shaped convex lens from two half-shells. The top ("ding") side has a central 'note' hammered in it and seven or eight 'tone fields' hammered in the center. The bottom ("Gu") is a regular surface with a rolling hole in the center that, when the edge is struck, produces a tuned note.
